California

Wow, I haven't written in a long time. I live in California now. Things are going great! I am working two jobs! I tutor math at the Kumon Center and it's great. There are smart kids there and it's not too bad. The other job, I just got this past week! Guess how... haha. You probably would never guess. So, basically, I was eating lunch. There were people who noticed I had my uke with me and asked if I knew how to play the thing. Haha, I laughed and was like,"Yeah, I know how to play..." They asked me to play something for them... so I did. I played and sang and we had a great time! (: Everyone was enjoying it. Haha, well, after a few minutes of that, I ended up leaving. As I get to my car, I had the urge to sing some more. I looked around and saw that there was a bench, right in front of "Big Lots." I had no idea what that store was till that day. Like, I didn't really know what they had in that store... but anyways, I sat down on their bench and sang like crazy. There were customers walking in and out and crowding around me and just having a great time (: I love hearing that I made someone's day... that just makes the whole thing worth it. Well, after about 20 minutes of singing and having fun, the boss comes out and is like,"Are you looking for a job?" hahaha, I was like,"Um... yes!" So, I was given the job... right then and there. Isn't that awesome!? It truly is a blessing... like, I've been hoping to find another job. Something fun and laid back and not so "work"-like. hahaha. And this is the job (: I'm a cashier... and I absolutely love it! The people who shop there are just amazing people, too! They're so patient and laid back and easy going. (: Another reason why I love this job is because I get to sing on my breaks (: I LOVE IT!! <3 hahaha, so... yeah. That's about it. I work two jobs, not going to school because it collides with other plans. OH! The second week I moved here (I've been here about a month and a half now), I got APPENDICITIS! Can you believe that?! I was so mad... haha. It just wasn't cool because I just moved here, was starting to do my own thing, so of course, I didn't have health insurance... oh man. It sucked. Bad! My bill ended up being about 32,000 something. It was just ... lovely. Ha. But I'm learning to work through it and deal... it isn't easy! Let me tell ya! But anyways, that's about it as of right now. (:

I'M SO EXCITED FOR THANKSGIVING! Not because there's going to be delicious food or anything, but because I get to go home for that weekend and just see my family and visit my friends and have a great time! (: I'm sooooooo excited! Haha, can't wait. Two more weeks! (:

Anyways, I better get off and go to sleep like a responsible young woman I should be... ha. Work in the morning... SO EXCITED (: haha. Goodnight, all.

Going Home!

Basically, it's been a few weeks since the original time I was supposed to be home. haha. I'm not complaining, it's been fun here in California for the past month! And a couple weeks before that, Arizona. But it's time to go home. I miss seeing my family and hanging out with friends and just being in my own room. haha. I also miss the green trees, fresh air, and the rain... a little bit. haha.

The past four months, I've been in Utah, Arizona, and California. I haven't seen much rain... haha. It's weird that I actually miss it. When I'm in Washington, I absolutely cannot stand it. haha. But I'll get over it. (:

Anyways, guess what's happening the 2nd of July? I'm going to be trying out for American Idol in Portland, Oregon. I'm pretty excited! (: I'm gonna be going with my mom and two sisters. I'm way excited!! When I get home, I'm gonna find some songs and whatnot. So far, I've been thinking of a couple songs from Adele, a song from Katy Perry, and a few others. We'll see though. (:

Alright, well, I better get my car packed up. My dad, brother, and I are planning on driving home all night tonight. (: So excited! haha.

ARIZONA!

Day Two in Arizona and I am loving it! (: The sunshine is amazing! (: Hahaha. Definitely a fan of this weather! After being in Utah for three months, I really enjoy the warmth of Arizona. Don't get me wrong though... Utah had nice days too, but nothing as warm as this. (:

Anyways, I'm with my brother!! (: It's awesome! I'm having a blast!

It was funny- yesterday, my brother and I went to Walmart to grab some food and I walked by a shelf full of bubbles! hahaha. It totally reminded me of my friend, Stan! It was quite hilarious. I laughed at myself and had to take a picture. So... I did. I took a picture and sent it to him. hahah. (: Here's the famous picture:

(: Gosh... it's so weird to think the semester is up! I can't believe it... It went by so quick! At first, I was wanting the semester to be done! But now, it's sad. I met so many people and made so many new friends... And two days ago, saying goodbye was way hard! :/ Sad thing. Life is kinda crazy...

Now, I need to figure out my next move in life. I loved Snow College, but I feel like it's not for me anymore. I need something more... But I haven't figured that part out yet... Washington State University, U of U, USU, BYU? I don't know where to go... But I'm sure I'll figure it out sooner than later.

Well, two weeks in Arizona and it's going to be a blast! (: I'm going to try to work on my tan. hahaha. (: My brother says there's a lot to do here in Mesa... It was kinda crazy actually! I saw a sign that said,"Next 23 exits for Mesa" ....... Crazy, right?! Mesa is huge! And there are like three malls right down the road from where P.J. lives. CRAZY! (: We're definitely going to be hitting up those malls. (: Hahaha.

By the way, HAPPY BIRTHDAY to ANELA! (: She's my best friend from Snow College in Ephraim, UT!! I love her! And miss her! I learned a lot from her and had great laughs with her! (: She and I were like crazy into our jam sessions. She played the ukulele while I sang! It was so much fun! (: Gosh... I miss her. We had great times and made so many memories!! I'll always remember her. (:

Alright, I'm done blogging for the day. hahaha... There's not much to say. But yeah, I am enjoying my time with my brother! (:

One More Week!

Wow, time has gone by so fast! I remember landing in Salt Lake City, Utah a few months ago! I remember driving into Ephraim, Utah and thinking this is going to be a long semester! I also remember telling myself this is going to suck. hahaha. But I'm alive. I made it! I survived... It's quite crazy!

I can't believe I'm going to be going to be leaving Ephraim in ONE MORE WEEK! I'm definitely excited! That's a given, but at the same time, I'm going to miss it. I've made a lot of new friends! (: I've had many different experiences as well! I've learned a lot here at Snow College, but it's time to go home! (: I miss my family! haha. I will miss Ephraim and my new friends and Snow College, but I feel like it's time for something new!

I'm not sure as to what the "something new" is... but I'm trying to figure it out. (: haha. Dang, so crazy!

My friend, Anela, is having her birthday the 2nd of May, so I'm going to be here in Ephraim till then. After we celebrate, I'll be on my way to Arizona! My brother, PJ, is there at Mesa Community College. He finishes the semester around May 12th or something like that. So, I'll be staying there till he's done! (: Sunshine! But yeah, once he's finished, we're both going to drive up through California and visit family and friends! (: We're both very excited!! When we're done with all the California stops, we'll be on our way to WASHINGTON! hahaha... The rainiest state. Great. haha. But seriously, to be honest, I enjoy Washington... The green, the scenery, the fresh air... Not the rain though. Nope. haha. I think Washington is a great place to VISIT, but to live there? Blah... I want to move back to California. haha. Everyone knows this about me. haha. (:

Well, I better get going. I need to start packing up my room... Do laundry, clean, take apart things, box things up, and pack the car... It's going to be interesting trying to fit everything into my car. haha. But I can do this!! (:

Danggg! Before I go, I gotta say this. This past weekend, I got to see my Auntie Kristin and Uncle Christian and their twins, Macee and Makya! They're the cutest, most well-behaved kids ever! (: Very sweet and happy and cute and just so loving! I absolutely love those kids!

Look at how adorable this family is! (: Awww! haha. After seeing these kids and hanging out with them, I didn't want to leave, but I had to ... because I had school! Blah. haha. But that's okay! PJ and I will be able to see them on our way up through California! We're thinking of take the kiddos to DisneyLand! (: hahaha. I'm so down! (: Cannot wait! haha! (: Freeeeak! (:

Alright... I'm gonna get going for reals this time......... WAIT! I just remembered! (: This morning, I checked my mail and guess what?! (: I got a package from my Mom! (: she's the best! She's just the greatest Mom ever!!! Like, no joke! (: She sent me an Easter basket filled with a bunch of my favorite candies! hahaha... Gosh... She's just the best! (: I LOVE HER!

Weird Thought!

FIVE MORE WEEKS OF SCHOOL?!

That's right! It's so crazy to think I've been here for over a month, but then again, it does feel like I've been away from home for years! hahaha... Gosh, it's a weird, crazy thought in my opinion! But that only makes seeing my family this summer, even better! (: I cannot wait!

Anyways, today is Friday and I'm definitely glad the week is over. It went by pretty quick actually... that's how every week should be! (: Quick, easy going, warm. haha. Dang......

So lately, I've been thinking a lot about where to go, as far as college goes. I love Snow College, I really do. It's a great school! But at the same time, I feel it's not the right place for ME. So, it's difficult... I've been trying to figure out if I want to do May-mester or just go home after this semester ends (Apr. 29). The only reason I'd be staying for May-mester is to do Music Theory II and Ear Training/Sight Singing II because if I were to return next semester, I wouldn't be able to take those classes because they don't offer it till next Spring. So things are just confusing and stressful. haha. Making decisions is just frustrating in my opinion because I don't wanna make a mistake. haha... Well, I always make mistakes, but I don't wanna make a HUGE mistake. ha. Does that make sense?

Anyways, Snow College? USU? U of U? WSU? BYU? I just don't know what to do and time is going by so quick! I feel like if I don't decide soon, I'm gonna miss out on something... ha. I don't know how to explain it. Gosh... ha. Life.

What to do, what to do? ... I'm sure I'll figure something out soon. *fingers crossed*

Questioned...

The strangest thing happened this past weekend. I guess my parents got a letter in the mail from Washington State University. I have been accepted into their music program! Can you believe it?! I don't even know what their music program looks like. ha... I didn't even apply to the college; never even looked at the school. So, it's kinda crazy to find out that I was accepted into the college... haha, weird. Besides that, it's Monday! haha. And Monday in the life of Monique, in the city of Ephraim, of the state of Utah...... well, it isn't that exciting. First of all, it doesn't even feel like a Monday. haha, I hate when it doesn't feel like Monday, but really it is. It's not cool because if I don't have a "Monday," I'm lost the rest of the week... and I don't want to be 'lost' this week because well, I have midterms! haha. Gosh....... school! Psh! Oh! But guess what?! Friday of this week is going to be great!! Why? Because. Because why?! Well, because it's the start of a nice break!! A whole week to just chill and relax... haha. I just hope I don't have to spend it here in Ephraim, alone! I want to go home for the week and visit the family. (: I guess we'll find out. haha.

Phone calls from home!

I love getting phone calls from my mom and dad! They're just the best!!! Like, seriously... being away from home is just a pain! haha. And talking to the family is also a pain because it only makes me miss home even more! hahaha... It's so messed up how things work sometimes. :p

Anyways, it's late, but I just wanted to blog a little something to make sure I stay up on this. hahaha... Weird, right? I know. (: But whatevs...

Before I go, I have a confession!!! I haven't been reading my scriptures as much as I should be!! Dang, I'm slacking! So... new goal: read scriptures for at least...... five minutes. haha. At least a verse! Just SOMETHING! (: haha. Deal.

Hello...

I'm still alive. I just have been 'busy' lately... Wow, it's been a long time since I've blogged. I even forgot I even had a blog. haha. Dang, that's not good!

I went to a friend's house last night and her mom told me she read my blog... I was like,"My blog?!" hahaha. I totally forgot about this thing. My bad!

Basically, things are great! I'm at Snow College in Ephraim, Utah and let me tell you... it's definitely different. I used to complain about living in the Toledo/Winlock/Vader area... you had to drive thirty minutes to get to a Walmart and shopping areas. haha. I don't know what I was complaining about. You come here and it's about an hour away from shopping centers. Dang, it's crazy. haha. Someone once said,"Ephraim isn't the end of the world, but you can see the end from Ephraim." Haha... Maybe those aren't the exact words, but close enough- you get the idea. hahaha.

When I first arrived in Ephraim, I didn't wanna be here... I didn't know anyone. No, I take that back, I knew ONE person... but that person and I never really hung out. We just know each other from home. haha. Our schools were rivals. haha.

Gosh, anyways... I really don't know what to say. I've just been busy studying and trying to stay on-top of my schoolwork. Majoring in music most definitely is not easy! haha. Ask me, I'll tell you! Seriously!! haha, there's so much dedication and sacrifice that goes into being a music major. But then again, it's that way for other majors too... it's just... I don't know. hahaha. Gosh, things are crazy!! I enjoy studying music though, don't get me wrong!! (: It's so interesting, fun, and hard. It's not easy, but once you get it and understand it, it's so rewarding!! (:

Well, I better get going. I have a class in a half hour!! A Cappella Choir has been interesting. The music choice is so amazing and definitely different than my choir in high school. No similarities at all... haha. It's awesome! (: Sure, sometimes I don't feel like being in the choir, but honestly, it's fun! I've learned a lot too. So... (: yeah. haha...
